Start of the AutoR Project
The Institute of Telematics is part of the renewable energies project AutoR. The goal of this project is to build autonomous heliostats for concentrated solar power plants. These heliostats are adjustable mirrors that reflect the sun light to a receiver in order to drive a heat engine. The experience of the institute in the field of wireless communication will help to eliminate the need of cables for the control of these heliostats to reduce the costs. In this project with a timeframe of four years, the institute works together with the company Trinamic and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
